• About 'Herzgewächse' with the ASKO Ensemble conducted by Reinbert de Leeuw, live-recording from the Festival van Vlaanderen:
'The composition is, though very short, one of the hardest works
to perform. The soprano has to sing inhumanly high notes, which have to
be projected directly from the low register. Monique Krüs sang with
vocal acrobatics and also managed to keep the serene atmosphere of Maeterlincks poem.' (De Standaard)
• Le troisième et dernier testament' by Russian-French composer and mystic Obouchov is rarely performed. This piece for orchestra, choir and soprano was played by the Radaio Philharmonisch Orkest and conducted by Reinbert de Leeuw:
'Most of all soprano Monique Krüs was very impressive in her part of an unearthly tessitura...' (NRC)
• Zaterdagmatinee Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Radio Kamer Orkest, Nederlands Kamerkoor conducted by Peter Eötvös:
'Impressive was the performance of CANTATA, not in the least because of the fantastic achievement
of soprano Monique Krüs. Henze must have had in mind a soprano for whom
the highest notes are a piece of cake. Because there were a few stellar
missiles. The almost incredible happened, soprano Krüs not only sang
them with ease, but also added warmth and personality' (Noord Hollands Dagblad)
Never heard anything like it!
What an amazing voice!

'Krüs added great acting to good singing, I enjoyed this hooker-like Zerbinetta very much' (Trouw)
