More information on the website of the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest (in Dutch only) THE STORY, based on an original idea by Katinka Reinders: Eva has her own zoo and spoils her animals quite a bit. She massages their feet, rubs their backs, even peels the peanuts for them. The animals are very lazy and sleep most of the day, how boring! There are no visitors and the mayor of the city sends Eva a letter, notifying her of its closure tomorrow. Eva tries to think of new ways to make money, make a commercial, rent her animals to a Circus. But they're too lazy.... At night a demolition team appears at the Zoo. All animals are protesting but to no avail, they are arrested by the police. Will they be able to escape and help Eva to keep her zoo? MUSICIANS 6 wonderful musicians of the Rott. Philharmonic give their best as Bear, Elephant, Chameleon, Snake, Monkey and Lion. Christine de Boer creates the charming, chaotic Zoo-keeper Eva. INTERACTIVE - In the show kids are invited to join Eva by answering questions about animals and about instruments. - At school they make drawings of non-existing animals inspired by the music of 'The Fantasy Animal' that will be used in the performance. - They learn, guided by the educational package that was created by the educational department of the orchestra, about the instruments used in the show. - They also prepare the final song Hé, laat je horen' /'Hey lass dich hören to sing along with Eva. CREW The text of Apenootje was written bij Thijs Maas and Roxanne Hellevoort, director was Bart Oomen, German translation by Barbara Buri Premiere Feb 12, 2016 in Rotterdam, more shows in 2017/2018. |
