More information on the website of the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest ( in Dutch)
Next shows: 4/8/9/10 November 2016 at the Doelen Rotterdam
After 4 seasons of its predecessor 'Soeraki' time for a new show for kids at the Doelen in Rotterdam.
Eva has her own Zoo and spoils her animals quite a bit. Unfortunately it is not very popular, no visitors and no money and the mayor of the city sends Eva a letter, notifying her of its closure tomorrow. Eva tries to think of new ways to make money, make a commercial, rent her animals to a Circus. But they're too lazy.... At night a demolition team appears at the Zoo. All animals are protesting but to no avail, they are arrested by the police. Of course they manage to escape and have a plan to attract more people: they form the world's first animal orchestra!
And of course their name is: Apenootje (Peanut)
6 wonderful musicians of the Rott. Philharmonic give their best as Bear, Elephant, Chameleon, Snake, Monkey and Lion. Christine de Boer creates the charming, chaotic Zoo-keeper Eva.
In the show kids get to know more about the instruments, to the music of 'The Fantasy Animal' they made drawings that are being used in the performance. At school they also prepare the final song, to sing along with Eva.
The text of Apenootje was written bij Thijs Maas and Roxanne Hellevoort and directed by Bart Oomen.
Premiere Feb 12, 2016, more shows coming up season 2017-2019.
